Pair of Turquoise Blue Flower Patches Iron Sew On Clothes Flowers Patch Badge

Add a fresh burst of colour and intricate embroidered detail to clothing and accessories with this beautiful pair of turquoise blue flower patches. Featuring an elaborate floral arrangement with a large open flower, smaller flower bud, layered leaves and flowing stems, these patches are ideal for transforming plain garments into something colourful and distinctive.

The design combines vibrant turquoise blue embroidery with pale blue sections and contrasting gold-toned stitched details. Fine golden stitches highlight the petals and leaves, while the strong turquoise edging defines the shape of each flower and gives the design a crisp, eye-catching finish.

Supplied as a coordinating mirrored pair, one patch faces left and the other faces right. This makes them particularly effective for creating symmetrical designs on jackets, jeans, shirts, dresses and other garments. Alternatively, use them individually on separate pieces of clothing or accessories.

Each patch measures approximately 6.9 cm Width x 11.8 cm Height.

Brighten Up Clothing and Accessories

These turquoise floral patches are an easy way to add colour and personality to everyday clothing. The combination of turquoise, pale blue and gold works especially well against denim, white, black and other contrasting fabrics.

They can be used on a wide range of suitable items, including:

  • Denim jackets and waistcoats
  • Jeans and trousers
  • Shirts and blouses
  • T-shirts and tops
  • Dresses and skirts
  • Shorts
  • Coats and jackets
  • Fabric handbags
  • Tote bags
  • Backpacks
  • Fabric accessories
  • Sewing and craft projects
  • Upcycled clothing

They can also provide a decorative solution for covering a small mark, stain, worn section or minor hole in a suitable garment. Instead of making the repair look purely practical, the embroidered flowers can turn the area into an intentional decorative feature.

Creative Ways to Use Your Turquoise Flower Patches

Because the patches form a left and right facing pair, they offer plenty of possibilities for creative placement.

Create a floral denim jacket

Place one patch on each side of the front of a denim jacket. Their vertical shape makes them ideal for positioning alongside pockets, lapels or the front opening. Against blue denim, the turquoise embroidery creates a colourful layered effect, while the gold detailing adds contrast.

Make a statement on the back of a jacket

Arrange both patches together on the upper or lower back of a jacket. Position them facing towards each other for a larger symmetrical floral display, or space them further apart for a more subtle design.

Customise a pair of jeans

Try positioning one patch down each trouser leg, beside the front pockets or around the back pockets. You could also place both patches on one leg to create a larger floral arrangement.

Decorate a dress or skirt

Position the patches near the hemline, around the waist, beside pockets or on opposite sides of a dress. The mirrored design makes it easy to create a balanced decorative feature.

Refresh a plain top or shirt

A simple blouse, shirt or suitable top can be transformed by placing the flowers near the shoulders, neckline or lower corners. Use both for symmetry or just one for an asymmetric floral accent.

Personalise a bag or backpack

These patches are not limited to clothing. They can be used to decorate suitable fabric tote bags, handbags and backpacks. Position the pair together on the front of a bag or use one on each side.

Create matching items

Instead of attaching both patches to the same garment, use one on a jacket and the other on a coordinating bag or pair of jeans. This creates a matching theme without the two pieces being identical.

Use them for upcycling

Give an older piece of clothing another life by adding embroidered decoration. A plain or well-worn denim jacket, pair of jeans or fabric bag can look completely different with the addition of colourful floral embroidery.

How to Iron On the Patches

The patches have an iron-on backing, allowing them to be attached conveniently to many suitable fabrics.

Before ironing, always check the care instructions for the garment. The material must be able to tolerate the heat needed to activate the adhesive. If you are working with delicate, waterproof, coated, highly stretchy or heat-sensitive fabric, sewing the patches on is recommended instead.

Step 1 – Prepare the fabric

Make sure the garment is clean and completely dry.

Lay it on a firm, flat, heat-resistant surface. Smooth the fabric so there are no folds or wrinkles underneath the area where the patch will be placed.

Briefly iron the application area before adding the patch. This removes wrinkles and any residual moisture from the fabric.

Step 2 – Arrange the patches

Place the patch with the embroidered turquoise design facing upwards and the adhesive backing against the garment.

If you are applying both patches, spend a little time arranging them before applying any heat. Check that you are happy with the distance and angle between them.

For a symmetrical design, measure their position from a central seam, pocket, collar or garment edge rather than relying entirely on sight.

Step 3 – Protect the embroidery

Cover the patch completely with a thin cotton cloth or pressing cloth.

This creates a protective barrier between the hot iron and the embroidered threads. Avoid placing the iron directly onto the turquoise and gold embroidery.

Step 4 – Apply heat and pressure

Set your iron to a suitable medium-to-high temperature for the fabric. Do not use steam.

Place the iron over the protected patch and press firmly for approximately 20–30 seconds.

Rather than continually moving the iron backwards and forwards, use firm, steady downward pressure.

Because the design contains pointed leaves and narrow sections, make sure heat is applied across the whole patch. Pay particular attention to the tips and outer edges, as these areas need to bond securely to prevent them from lifting.

Step 5 – Iron from the reverse

Where the garment allows, turn it inside out once the front has been heated.

Place the iron over the reverse side of the patch area and press for approximately another 20–30 seconds.

Applying heat from the back helps the adhesive warm through the fabric and can improve the bond.

Step 6 – Allow to cool

Leave the garment lying flat and allow the patch to cool completely.

Do not pull at the patch or bend the fabric immediately after ironing. The adhesive needs time to set as it cools.

Once cool, gently inspect the outer edges. If any area has not fully attached, cover the patch again and repeat the ironing process on that section.

Avoid washing the garment immediately after application so the adhesive has plenty of time to settle.

How to Sew On the Patches

The patches can also be attached by hand sewing or machine sewing, depending on the item and your preference.

Sewing is particularly useful for garments that cannot safely be ironed. It can also provide a stronger attachment for clothing and accessories that receive frequent use.

To sew a patch on by hand, first place it exactly where you want it. Use pins or a few temporary stitches to prevent it from moving.

Choose a thread that complements the design. Turquoise or blue thread can blend neatly with the embroidered border, helping to keep the attachment stitches discreet.

Thread your needle and tie a secure knot at the end of the thread.

Start from the reverse side of the fabric so the knot is hidden underneath the garment.

Bring the needle through close to the outer embroidered border and make small, neat stitches around the edge of the patch.

Work slowly around the curved flower petals and pointed leaves, following the shape of the embroidery. Smaller stitches are particularly useful around detailed or narrow areas.

Pay extra attention to the tips of the leaves and ends of the stems. Securing these sections well can help prevent them catching or lifting during everyday wear.

Continue sewing until you have worked around the entire patch.

Finish on the reverse side of the garment and tie the thread securely.

Combine Ironing and Sewing for Extra Security

For items that are regularly worn, washed or handled, you can use both the iron-on backing and stitching.

First iron the patch into your chosen position and allow it to cool completely. Once attached, sew around the outer edge or add several strategically positioned stitches around the flowers and leaves.

This gives you the convenience of ironing while providing the additional security of stitching.

Combining both methods is particularly useful for jeans, jackets, backpacks and frequently used fabric bags.

Choosing the Best Application Method

For many cotton and denim fabrics, ironing provides a convenient way to attach the patches.

However, sewing may be the better choice for:

  • Heat-sensitive fabrics
  • Delicate materials
  • Stretchy garments
  • Waterproof fabrics
  • Coated materials
  • Heavily textured fabrics
  • Items that will be washed frequently
  • Bags and accessories that receive substantial everyday use

If you are uncertain whether a fabric can withstand the required ironing temperature, it is safer to sew the patch on.

Looking After Your Decorated Garment

A little care can help keep the embroidery and attachment looking good.

Where practical, turn the garment inside out before washing. Use a moderate washing temperature and avoid unnecessarily harsh washing cycles.

Allow the garment to dry naturally where possible.

After repeated wear and washing, check around the edges of the patches. If an ironed section begins to lift, it can be reheated using a protective cotton cloth or reinforced with a few stitches.
