🔥 How to Iron On (Step-by-Step – Extra Friendly!)

Best applied to cotton, denim, canvas, or similar heat-safe fabrics.

  1. If your item is brand new, wash and dry it first to remove factory coatings that can affect adhesion.

  2. Set your iron to medium heat (cotton setting) and make sure steam is completely turned off.

  3. Lay your garment flat on an ironing board or firm surface and smooth out any wrinkles.

  4. Place the patch where you’d like it, shiny glue side facing down onto the fabric.

  5. Cover with a thin cloth, tea towel, or baking paper to protect the embroidery.

  6. Press the iron firmly straight down on the patch for 20 seconds — don’t slide the iron.

  7. Lift the iron and press again for another 10 seconds, focusing on the edges.

  8. Turn the garment inside out and press directly behind the patch for 15 seconds to activate the glue fully.

  9. Leave everything flat and untouched for at least 3–5 minutes to cool completely.

After ironing, avoid washing for 24–48 hours. For bags, jeans, or items that bend often, adding a few stitches around the edge is highly recommended for long-lasting hold.

⚠️ Not suitable for nylon, waterproof fabrics, or heat-sensitive materials unless sewn.

🧵 How to Sew On (Best for Everyday Use)

Sewing is perfect for backpacks, denim, kids’ clothing, or anything that gets washed regularly.

  1. Position the patch and secure with pins or temporary fabric glue.

  2. Thread a needle with strong thread (brown, pink, or clear works well).

  3. Starting from inside the fabric, push the needle up through the edge of the patch so the knot stays hidden.

  4. Stitch neatly around the entire border using small straight stitches or a zig-zag stitch.

  5. Keep stitches even and gently pull snug after each one.

  6. Once complete, finish on the inside with a tight double knot and trim excess thread.

For extra durability, especially on bags or jackets, you can sew a second round around the edge.
