Mini USA Flag Patch – Iron or Sew On United States of America Embroidered Badge

Size: 4.5cm (W) × 3.2cm (H)

Add a classic American accent to your clothing or accessories with this Mini USA Flag Patch. Designed in a flowing, wavy Stars and Stripes style, this compact embroidered badge captures the spirit of the United States in a clean, timeless format.

Finished with dense stitching and bright, well-defined colours, this patch offers a crisp look while remaining lightweight and discreet. Its small size makes it ideal for subtle personalisation, whether you’re customising everyday wear, upgrading travel gear, or creating something completely unique.

This patch comes with a heat-activated adhesive backing for quick iron-on application and can also be sewn on for a more permanent attachment, giving you flexibility depending on how you plan to use it.

Because of its compact profile, it’s perfect for placing on denim jackets, shirt pockets, hoodies, T-shirts, caps, beanies, or tote bags. Many customers also use it on backpacks, gym bags, laptop sleeves, camera cases, travel luggage, lunch bags, or pencil cases. It’s popular for decorating festival outfits, marking sports kits, upgrading school bags, adding flair to aprons, or refreshing old clothing. Crafters love incorporating it into handmade gifts, memory blankets, scrapbook covers, or custom apparel, while travellers often attach it to rucksacks or organiser pouches as a simple souvenir of their adventures.

🔥 How to Iron On (Very Detailed Instructions)

Iron-on application works best on cotton, denim, canvas, and similar heat-safe fabrics.

  1. If the garment is new, wash and dry it first to remove any factory finishes that may interfere with adhesion.

  2. Set your iron to medium heat (cotton setting) and ensure steam is switched completely OFF.

  3. Place your garment flat on a firm, heat-resistant surface and smooth out any wrinkles.

  4. Position the patch exactly where you want it, with the shiny adhesive side facing down onto the fabric.

  5. Cover the patch with a thin cloth, tea towel, or baking paper to protect the embroidery.

  6. Press the iron straight down onto the patch for 15–20 seconds, applying firm, steady pressure. Do not slide the iron.

  7. Lift the iron, rotate the garment slightly, and press again for another 10 seconds to ensure even heat coverage.

  8. Turn the garment inside out and press directly behind the patch for 15 seconds to fully activate the adhesive through the fabric.

  9. Lay the garment flat and allow it to cool completely for at least 3–5 minutes before touching or moving the patch.

After ironing, avoid washing for 24–48 hours. For items that bend, stretch, or receive regular use (bags, sleeves, shoulders, T-shirts), sewing around the edge after ironing is strongly recommended for long-lasting hold.

Important notes:
– Not suitable for nylon, waterproof fabrics, leather, or heat-sensitive materials unless sewn.
– If any corner lifts, re-cover with cloth and re-press for another 10 seconds.

🧵 How to Sew On (Permanent Attachment Method)

Sewing is the most secure option, especially for bags, denim, or frequently washed clothing.

  1. Place the patch in position and secure it with pins or temporary fabric glue.

  2. Thread a needle with strong polyester or cotton thread (white, red, blue, or clear thread works well).

  3. Starting from inside the garment, bring the needle up through the edge of the patch so the knot remains hidden underneath.

  4. Stitch evenly around the border using small straight stitches, whip stitches, or a zig-zag stitch for extra strength.

  5. Keep spacing consistent and gently pull the thread snug after each stitch without puckering the fabric.

  6. Continue until you’ve sewn all the way around the patch.

  7. Finish on the inside of the garment with a tight double knot and trim off any excess thread.

For heavy-use items like backpacks or travel bags, a second pass around the edge adds extra durability.
