Pair of Blue Flower Patches – Iron On or Sew On Embroidered Floral Appliqués
Bring a fresh floral finish to clothing and accessories with this beautiful Pair of Blue Flower Patches. Featuring a delicate combination of pale powder blue flowers, deeper blue leaves and stems, and contrasting gold-coloured centres, these embroidered appliqués are a lovely way to personalise dresses, skirts, trousers and other fabric items.
The design combines several different flower shapes and sizes into one flowing botanical arrangement. A large open bloom forms the main feature towards the bottom, with smaller flowers rising above it and curved leaves weaving between the blossoms. The different shades of blue give the embroidery depth without making the design overly bright.
Size
You will receive 2 coordinating Blue Flower Patches.
Each individual patch measures approximately:
5 cm Width × 11.8 cm Height
The tall, narrow shape makes these patches particularly useful for decorating areas where a conventional round or square patch may not work as well.
Pale Blue & Gold Floral Embroidery
The main flowers are embroidered in a beautiful light blue shade, complemented by medium and deeper blue stitching through the leaves, stems and surrounding details.
Each flower is finished with a gold-coloured embroidered centre, adding a subtle contrasting accent against the cooler blue tones.
Fine lines of embroidery run through the petals and leaves, creating visible texture and helping define the individual parts of the floral design. The open spaces between the stems and flowers also give the patches an attractive lace-like appearance when attached to fabric.
Designed as a Matching Pair
These two patches face in opposite directions, making them particularly effective when used together. Position them symmetrically to create a balanced floral feature or separate them and use each one on a different garment or craft project.
They could be positioned along the sides of a skirt, trouser legs, dress panels, jacket fronts or pockets, or used to frame another decorative feature.
Because each patch is almost 12 cm tall, they create a noticeable embroidered detail while remaining slim enough to work on many different garments.
Give Plain Clothing a New Look
A pair of embroidered appliqués can completely change the appearance of an otherwise simple item of clothing. Add them to a plain skirt for a botanical accent, decorate the legs or pockets of trousers, or use them to give an older dress a fresh new look.
They are also useful for upcycling and clothing customisation, allowing you to personalise garments rather than replacing them.
The soft blue colouring works particularly well alongside white, cream, navy, grey, black, pale denim and other blue shades.
Iron-On Instructions
Before applying, always check that your chosen fabric is suitable for ironing at the required temperature. Delicate, waterproof, coated, stretchy or heat-sensitive materials may be better suited to sew-on application.
- Place the garment on a firm, flat and heat-resistant surface.
- Make sure the area is clean, completely dry and free from wrinkles.
- Arrange the patches in your chosen position. When applying them as a pair, check that you are happy with the spacing and alignment before beginning.
- Set the iron to a suitable medium-to-high temperature for the fabric. Switch off the steam function.
- Place a thin cotton cloth, clean tea towel or pressing cloth over the entire patch. Do not place the hot iron directly onto the embroidery.
- Press firmly over the covered patch for approximately 20–30 seconds. Lift and reposition the iron where necessary rather than continuously moving it backwards and forwards.
- Where the garment allows, turn it inside out and apply heat to the reverse of the patch for approximately another 20–30 seconds.
- Allow the garment and patch to cool completely before touching or moving them.
- Once cool, gently check around the outer edges. If any areas have not bonded sufficiently, cover the patch again and repeat the heating process for a short period.
As fabrics and irons vary, these timings should be treated as a general guide.
For clothing that will be washed frequently or subjected to regular wear, we recommend adding a few stitches around the edges for extra security.
Sew-On Instructions
These floral patches can also be sewn directly onto the garment, either without ironing or after ironing to create a stronger and more permanent attachment.
Place the patch in the required position and temporarily secure it using pins or fabric clips. Choose a thread that coordinates with the blue embroidery and sew small stitches around the outside edge.
Work carefully around the curves of the flowers, leaves and stems, making sure the smaller sections are securely attached to the fabric.
Once you have worked around the entire design, securely fasten the thread on the reverse.
If attaching the patches to heavier trousers, denim or thick fabric, a stronger needle may be required.
Perfect for Sewing, Upcycling & Craft Projects
These embroidered blue flower patches can be used on a wide variety of suitable fabric items, including dresses, skirts, trousers, jeans, jackets, shirts, tops, tote bags, fabric bags, backpacks and handmade garments.
Use the pair together for an attractive symmetrical design or separately to add a floral accent wherever you choose.
With their combination of soft powder blue flowers, darker blue botanical detailing and warm gold-coloured centres, these patches offer an attractive way to introduce colour and embroidery to clothing without overwhelming the original garment.
