2. Make sure the fabric is clean, completely dry and smooth.

4. Set the iron to an appropriate medium-to-high temperature for the garment fabric and switch off the steam function.
5. Place a thin cotton cloth, pressing cloth or clean tea towel over the embroidered patch.
6. Press firmly with the iron for approximately 20–30 seconds. Avoid repeatedly moving the iron backwards and forwards across the embroidery.
7. Where the garment allows, turn it inside out and apply heat from the reverse side for approximately 20–30 seconds.
8. Leave the patch and garment lying flat until they have cooled completely.
9. Once cool, carefully check the edges. If an area has not bonded properly, cover the patch again and repeat the process for a short period.

Different irons and fabrics can require different temperatures and application times, so these instructions should be treated as a general guide.

For garments that are regularly worn or washed, particularly jeans and denim jackets, adding several stitches around the patch after ironing can help provide a more secure and long-lasting attachment.

Sew-On Application

The patches can also be sewn directly onto your chosen garment or accessory.

Hand-Sewing Instructions

1. Position the patch and check that you are happy with its placement.
2. Hold it temporarily in position using pins, fabric clips or a few loose stitches.

4. Begin from the inside of the garment so the starting knot remains hidden.
5. Make small, evenly spaced stitches around the outer embroidered edge.
6. Follow the shape of the flowers, leaves and stems rather than simply sewing a rectangular outline.
7. Secure narrower sections and leaf tips carefully so they sit neatly against the garment.
8. Once the complete patch is firmly attached, finish the thread securely on the reverse side.

A suitable denim or heavyweight needle may make sewing through thicker jeans and jackets easier.
