Pair of Orange Flower Patches – Iron On or Sew On Denim Jeans Jacket Floral Patches
Add a warm burst of colour and detailed floral embroidery to your favourite clothing with this beautiful Pair of Orange Flower Patches. Designed as a coordinating mirrored pair, these decorative appliqués feature an arrangement of embroidered flowers, smaller blossoms and flowing leaves in rich orange, burnt orange and rust tones, finished with contrasting gold-coloured flower centres.
The combination of warm orange shades and intricate stitching creates an eye-catching design that looks particularly effective against denim. Whether you want to personalise a pair of jeans, transform a denim jacket, decorate a bag or give an older garment a fresh new look, these floral patches provide an easy and attractive way to customise fabric items.
Each patch has its own complete floral arrangement, so they look great when used together or individually.
Size
You will receive 2 Orange Flower Patches.
Each individual patch measures approximately:
5 cm Width × 11.8 cm Height
The long, narrow shape makes these patches particularly useful for positioning down jean legs, alongside pockets, on jacket panels or in other areas where you want a noticeable design without using an especially wide patch.
Detailed Orange Floral Design
Each patch features a collection of embroidered flowers arranged into an attractive vertical display.
A large flower forms the main focal point towards the bottom of the design, with individually embroidered petals surrounding a contrasting gold-coloured centre. Above this sits another detailed flower, a group of smaller blossoms and a smaller flower at the top.
Sweeping embroidered leaves connect the different floral elements and give the design a natural flowing appearance.
Different shades of orange, burnt orange and rust are used throughout the flowers and foliage. The variation in thread tones and stitching helps define the individual petals and leaves, while the gold-coloured centres add an attractive finishing detail.
Perfect for Denim Jeans & Jackets
These patches are particularly well suited to customising denim jeans and denim jackets.
The warm orange embroidery creates an attractive contrast against traditional blue denim and can also work beautifully with black, grey, white and other denim colours.
Try placing the patches:
- Down opposite legs of a pair of jeans
- Alongside front or back jean pockets
- On either side of a denim jacket
- On jacket sleeves or panels
- On the front or back of a shirt
- On dresses or skirts
- On handbags, backpacks or fabric bags
They can also be used on suitable T-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts, coats, shirts, dresses and other fabric clothing and accessories.
Coordinating Mirrored Pair
These Orange Flower Patches have been designed as a complementary mirrored pair, allowing the two floral arrangements to face one another when positioned on clothing.
This makes them particularly attractive for symmetrical designs. Place one on either side of a jacket, use one on each jean leg or position them around pockets or other features of a garment.
Alternatively, there is no need to use both patches on the same item. Each patch works as a complete floral design in its own right, so you can use one on a jacket and the other on jeans, a bag or another project.
Ideal for Upcycling & Clothing Customisation
Adding embroidered patches is a simple way to transform plain clothing and give older garments a completely different appearance.
A basic denim jacket can be personalised with colourful floral details, while a plain pair of jeans can be turned into something much more individual.
Where appropriate, the patches may also be positioned over a small mark, worn section or minor imperfection, allowing you to incorporate the area into a decorative design.
They are also suitable for sewing, dressmaking, costume making, textile crafts and a wide range of creative fabric projects.
How to Iron On
Before ironing the patches onto your garment, always check its care label to ensure the material can safely withstand heat.
Denim, cotton and other heat-resistant materials are generally better suited to iron-on application. Delicate, coated, waterproof, highly elasticated or heat-sensitive fabrics may not be suitable for ironing, and sewing is recommended for these materials.
Iron-On Instructions
- Make sure your jeans, jacket or other fabric item is clean and completely dry.
- Place the garment on a firm, flat and heat-resistant surface.
- Position the Orange Flower Patch exactly where you would like it. If you are applying both patches together, take a moment to check that the pair is evenly positioned before applying heat.
- Set your iron to a medium to high temperature suitable for the fabric. Make sure the steam function is switched off.
- Cover the entire patch with a thin cotton cloth, pressing cloth or clean tea towel. Do not place the hot iron directly onto the embroidered threads.
- Press the iron firmly onto the covered patch for approximately 20–30 seconds. Use steady downward pressure rather than continuously moving the iron backwards and forwards.
- If the garment allows, turn it inside out and apply heat to the reverse side of the patch for approximately another 20–30 seconds.
- Leave the garment flat and allow the patch and fabric to cool completely.
- Once cool, gently check around the edges of the patch to make sure it has bonded securely.
- If an area has not fully attached, cover the patch again and carefully repeat the heating process for a short period.
Iron temperatures and fabrics vary, so the exact time and heat required can differ. Always take care to avoid excessive heat that could damage either the garment or embroidery.
For jeans, jackets and other clothing that will be worn and washed regularly, adding a few stitches around the patch after ironing can provide extra security.
How to Sew On
The patches can also be sewn directly onto clothing and accessories. Sewing is an excellent option for denim jeans and jackets, particularly if you want a strong and long-lasting attachment.
It is also the recommended method for fabrics that cannot safely withstand ironing.
The patches can be hand sewn or machine sewn, depending on the garment and your preferred method.
Hand Sewing Instructions
- Position the patch exactly where you would like it on the garment.
- Secure it temporarily using pins, fabric clips or a few loose holding stitches.
- Select a thread that coordinates with the orange embroidered edging or matches the fabric underneath.
- Thread your needle and tie a secure knot at the end of the thread.
- Begin from the reverse side of the garment so the starting knot remains hidden.
- Make small, neat stitches around the embroidered outer edge of the patch.
- Carefully follow the shape of the flowers and leaves, making sure the smaller and narrower areas are also secured.
- Continue sewing until the patch sits firmly and evenly against the fabric.
- Finish on the reverse side of the garment and secure the thread with a strong knot.
- Remove any temporary pins, clips or holding stitches.
For thick denim, using a strong needle suitable for denim or heavier fabrics can make the job easier.
Add Warm Floral Colour to Your Clothing
The combination of orange, burnt orange, rust and gold-coloured embroidery gives these patches a warm and distinctive appearance. The colours work especially well against blue and black denim but can also provide an attractive decorative feature on many other fabric colours.
At approximately 5 cm wide × 11.8 cm high, each patch is large enough to make an impact while retaining a slim vertical shape that is easy to incorporate into clothing designs.
Use the mirrored pair together for a coordinated floral arrangement or separate them and create two individual projects.
Whether you are customising a new denim jacket, refreshing an older pair of jeans, decorating a bag or creating something completely unique, these embroidered Orange Flower Patches are a colourful way to add floral detail and texture.
