Pair of Purple Lavender Flower Patches – Iron On or Sew On Embroidered Floral Appliqués

Add a soft floral touch to clothing, bags and creative projects with this beautiful Pair of Purple Lavender Flower Patches. Featuring an elegant arrangement of embroidered flowers, leaves and sweeping stems, these matching appliqués combine delicate lavender and lilac tones with deeper purple detailing and gold-coloured flower centres.

The mixture of light and dark purple shades gives the design plenty of depth, while the contrasting metallic-style centres add a subtle decorative highlight. With their long, narrow shape, these patches are ideal for adding floral detail without overwhelming the item they are attached to.

Size

You will receive 2 coordinating embroidered flower patches.

Each patch measures approximately:

5 cm Width × 11.8 cm Height

Lavender, Lilac & Purple Floral Design

Each patch features a collection of flowers rather than one simple bloom. A large five-petal flower forms the main focal point towards the bottom, accompanied by smaller blossoms arranged further up the design.

The petals are embroidered in attractive lavender and pale purple shades, while darker purple stems and leaves weave between the flowers. Fine contrasting stitching across the petals adds texture and helps emphasise the shape of each bloom.

Gold-coloured embroidered centres provide a striking contrast against the cooler purple tones.

The result is a floral design that can work equally well with casual denim, neutral fabrics or more decorative clothing.

Designed as a Coordinating Pair

These patches have opposite-facing layouts, making them particularly suitable for symmetrical placement.

They could be positioned on either side of a denim jacket, down the legs of a pair of jeans, around pockets, on the front of a bag or as matching decorative features on a handmade garment.

You don't have to use them together either. The two patches can be separated and used on completely different projects.

Great for Personalising Clothing & Bags

These embroidered lavender flower patches can be used to give plain fabric items a more individual appearance. Suitable uses include:

  • Jeans and denim trousers
  • Denim jackets
  • Shirts and blouses
  • Dresses and skirts
  • Fabric handbags
  • Tote bags
  • Backpacks
  • Waistcoats
  • Fabric accessories
  • Sewing projects
  • Textile crafts
  • Upcycled clothing

The purple and lavender colour palette looks particularly attractive against blue denim, black, white, cream, grey and other neutral fabrics.

Refresh Older Clothes

Decorative patches are a simple way to change the appearance of clothing you already own.

Try adding the pair to the front or back of a denim jacket, positioning them vertically along the legs of jeans or using them to create a floral feature on a bag.

At approximately 11.8 cm high, each patch provides a noticeable amount of embroidery while remaining relatively slim at approximately 5 cm wide.

Depending on the position and size of the affected area, the patches may also be useful for decoratively disguising certain small marks or worn sections of fabric.

Iron-On Application

Always check the care label of your garment before applying heat. Some delicate, coated, waterproof, synthetic or heat-sensitive materials may not be suitable for ironing, in which case the patches should be sewn on instead.

  1. Place the garment on a firm, flat and heat-resistant surface.
  2. Make sure the material is clean, dry and free from creases.
  3. Arrange the patch in your chosen position. When using both patches together, position both before ironing so you can check that the spacing looks even.
  4. Set your iron to a suitable medium-to-high temperature, according to the fabric being decorated. Turn the steam function off.
  5. Cover the embroidered patch with a thin cotton cloth, pressing cloth or clean tea towel.
  6. Press the iron firmly over the patch for approximately 20–30 seconds. Avoid continuously sliding the iron across the embroidery.
  7. If the garment allows, turn it inside out and apply heat to the reverse of the patch for approximately another 20–30 seconds.
  8. Leave the garment lying flat and allow the patch to cool completely.
  9. Once cool, gently check around the edges. If any section has not fully attached, cover the patch and carefully repeat the heating process.

Iron temperatures and application times vary between fabrics and irons, so these instructions should be used as a general guide.

For frequently worn or regularly washed garments such as jeans and jackets, adding a few securing stitches after ironing can provide additional durability.

Sew-On Application

These patches can also be attached using a needle and thread, either instead of ironing or in addition to the iron-on application.

Sewing is particularly useful for denim, bags, thicker materials and fabrics that cannot safely withstand high temperatures.

Hand-Sewing Instructions

Position the patch exactly where you would like it and temporarily secure it using pins or fabric clips.

Choose a thread colour that blends with the purple embroidered border. Starting from the reverse side of the garment, make small, evenly spaced stitches around the outer edge of the patch.

Because the design contains individual flowers, leaves and curved stems, following the embroidered outline will help the patch sit neatly against the fabric.

Pay particular attention to narrow stems, leaf tips and smaller flowers so that these sections remain securely attached.

Once you have worked around the complete design, tie off the thread securely on the inside of the garment.

For thick denim, using a suitable denim or heavyweight sewing needle can make application easier.

A Versatile Floral Embellishment

With their combination of pale lavender flowers, deeper purple leaves and gold-coloured accents, these patches offer something slightly different from traditional brightly coloured floral appliqués.

Use them to give a favourite pair of jeans a new look, personalise a plain bag, decorate a denim jacket or incorporate them into your next sewing or upcycling project.
