How to Iron On

Iron-On Instructions

1. Make sure the garment or fabric is clean and completely dry.
2. Place the garment on a firm, flat and heat-resistant surface.
3. Position the Turquoise Blue Flower Patch exactly where you would like it. If using both patches together, check the spacing and alignment before applying heat.
4. Set your iron to a medium to high temperature suitable for the fabric and make sure the steam function is switched off.
5. Cover the patch completely with a thin cotton cloth, pressing cloth or clean tea towel. This helps protect the embroidered threads from direct contact with the hot iron.
6. Press the iron firmly onto the covered patch for approximately 20–30 seconds. Apply steady downward pressure rather than continuously moving the iron backwards and forwards.
7. If possible, turn the garment inside out and press the reverse side of the patch for approximately another 20–30 seconds.
8. Leave the garment lying flat and allow both the fabric and patch to cool completely.
9. Once cool, gently check around the edges to make sure the patch has bonded securely.
10. If any section has not fully attached, replace the protective cloth and carefully apply heat again for a short period.

Different irons and fabrics can require different temperatures and application times, so adjust carefully where necessary. Avoid excessive heat, as this could damage either the embroidery or the garment.

For clothing that will be washed frequently or subjected to regular wear, adding a few stitches around the patch after ironing can provide additional security.

How to Sew On

The patches can also be attached by sewing, either instead of ironing or after ironing for an even more secure attachment.

Sewing is particularly useful for fabrics that cannot safely withstand the temperature required for iron-on application.

The patches can be hand sewn or machine sewn, depending on the garment, your equipment and your preferred method.

Hand Sewing Instructions

1. Position the patch carefully on your chosen garment or fabric item.
2. Temporarily secure it using pins, fabric clips or a few loose holding stitches so that it cannot move while you sew.

4. Thread your needle and tie a secure knot at the end.
