Pair of Turquoise Green Flower Patches – Iron On or Sew On Embroidered Floral Appliqués

Add a fresh and distinctive floral detail to clothing, bags and craft projects with this beautiful Pair of Turquoise Green Flower Patches. Featuring an elegant arrangement of flowers, leaves and curved stems, these embroidered appliqués combine soft turquoise-green shades with brighter turquoise edging and contrasting gold-coloured embroidered details.

The patches are supplied as a coordinating mirrored pair, with one design facing left and the other facing right. This makes them particularly attractive when used together to create a balanced floral arrangement on a jacket, dress, pair of jeans, bag or other textile project.

Each individual patch measures approximately 6.9 cm Width × 11.8 cm Height.

Beautiful Turquoise Green Floral Design

These patches feature an intricate botanical design made up of a large open flower, a smaller flower bud, pointed leaves, lower foliage and sweeping stems.

The main colouring is a fresh turquoise green / mint green, complemented by stronger turquoise stitching around many of the outlines. Gold-coloured embroidery runs through the flowers and leaves, adding definition and creating an attractive contrast against the lighter background.

The large flower is especially detailed, with layered embroidered petals and sweeping gold stitching through its centre. Fine gold stitches also decorate the outer petals and leaves, while the lower section contains additional embroidered leaf shapes and curved stems.

The combination of turquoise, green and gold tones gives the patches a bright yet elegant appearance that works particularly well against denim, white, cream, black, navy, grey and many other fabric colours.

Coordinating Mirrored Pair

The set contains two opposite-facing patches, rather than two identical designs facing in the same direction.

When positioned together, the flowers naturally face towards one another, creating a balanced decorative arrangement. This makes the pair ideal for symmetrical designs on clothing and accessories.

They could be placed on either side of a jacket opening, around a neckline, on opposite sides of a dress, one on each trouser leg, either side of a bag or together on the back of a garment.

Alternatively, use the two patches separately on different items to create a matching theme.

Perfect for Customising Clothes

Give plain or older clothing a colourful new appearance by adding these embroidered flower patches.

They can be used on suitable jeans, denim jackets, trousers, skirts, dresses, shirts, blouses, sweatshirts, cardigans and other garments.

The turquoise colouring looks particularly effective against traditional blue denim. Try positioning one flower on each side of the front of a denim jacket, or arrange both patches together across the back for a larger floral feature.

On jeans or trousers, the elongated shape makes them ideal for positioning vertically down the legs. They could also be arranged near pockets or used to create an eye-catching feature towards the bottom of a trouser leg.

For dresses and skirts, try positioning the flowers near the hem so that the embroidered stems and flowers appear to grow upwards across the fabric.

Bags, Accessories & Craft Projects

These patches are also a great choice for decorating suitable fabric accessories.

Use them to personalise tote bags, canvas bags, backpacks, fabric handbags, shoppers, craft bags and other textile items.

A plain canvas bag can quickly be transformed by placing the two floral patches together. Because the patches face in opposite directions, they can frame a central area of a bag particularly well.

They can also be incorporated into larger craft designs alongside butterflies, birds, lettering, hearts, other flowers or decorative embroidered patches.

Excellent for Upcycling

Decorative patches are an easy way to give existing clothes and accessories a different appearance without replacing the entire item.

An older denim jacket, pair of jeans or fabric bag can be given a colourful update simply by adding embroidered floral decoration.

Depending on the location and size of the area, the patches may also be useful for decorating over certain small marks, unwanted designs or worn-looking sections of fabric.

They are ideal for upcycling, sewing, dressmaking, textile crafts, costume making and personalised clothing projects.

How to Iron On

Before ironing, always check the care label of the garment or item you are decorating. The material must be capable of safely withstanding the required heat.

Do not use the iron-on method on delicate, waterproof, coated or heat-sensitive materials. For these fabrics, sewing the patches into place is the safer option.

1. Prepare the fabric: Make sure the garment or accessory is clean, completely dry and lying flat on a firm heat-resistant surface.

2. Position the patches: Arrange the two flowers exactly where you would like them. If creating a symmetrical design, check their height, spacing and angle before applying heat.

3. Prepare the iron: Set your iron to a suitable medium-to-high temperature for the fabric and turn off the steam.

4. Protect the embroidery: Place a thin cotton cloth, pressing cloth or clean tea towel over the patch. This prevents the hot iron from sitting directly against the decorative embroidery.

5. Apply heat: Press firmly and evenly for approximately 20–30 seconds. Avoid continually moving the iron backwards and forwards.

6. Press from the reverse: Where possible, turn the garment inside out and apply heat to the reverse of the patch area for another 20–30 seconds.

7. Leave to cool: Allow the patch and fabric to cool completely before moving or testing the edges. The adhesive continues to set as it cools.

8. Check the attachment: Once cool, carefully check the edges. If any section has not bonded fully, cover it with your protective cloth and repeat the heating process.

Iron temperatures and fabrics vary, so these timings should be treated as a general guide. Always follow the care instructions supplied with the garment.

How to Sew On

The patches can also be sewn directly onto the fabric, either instead of ironing or as additional reinforcement.

First place the patch in your chosen position and secure it temporarily with pins or suitable fabric clips.

Choose a thread that blends with the turquoise-green embroidered border and work small, neat stitches around the outside of the design.

Because the patch contains pointed leaves, narrow stems and curved sections, take particular care to secure these smaller areas. This will help the entire design lie neatly against the fabric.

For heavyweight denim, canvas and other thicker materials, use an appropriate stronger needle.

Iron On + Sew On for Extra Security

For suitable heat-resistant fabrics, you can combine both application methods.

Iron the patch into position first and allow it to cool completely. Then add a series of small stitches around the outer edges.

This provides additional security and is particularly useful for frequently worn or handled items such as jackets, jeans, trousers and bags.

Creative Ways to Use Your Flower Patches

There are many ways to arrange this mirrored pair.

Place one on each side of a denim jacket opening for a balanced botanical design. Position them around the neckline of a dress or top to create decorative floral detailing.

Add one to each leg of a pair of jeans for a coordinated look, or position both together on one leg for a larger floral arrangement.

On a tote bag, the flowers could be used to frame initials, lettering or another central embroidered patch.

For an upcycling project, combine them with other floral patches to build a larger embroidered garden effect across a jacket, skirt or bag.

You could even separate the pair and place one patch on a garment and the second on a matching accessory.
