Pair of Yellow Flower Patches – Iron On or Sew On Embroidered Floral Patches

Brighten up clothing, accessories and creative projects with this beautiful Pair of Yellow Flower Patches. Featuring an elaborate embroidered floral design in vibrant yellow, golden yellow and soft cream tones, these decorative appliqués are an easy way to give plain garments a colourful new look.

Each patch features a large statement flower surrounded by smaller flowers, leaves, stems and delicate curling details. Contrasting lighter sections within the flowers and leaves help highlight the intricate design, while subtle gold-coloured thread detailing adds an attractive finishing touch.

The two patches are designed as a coordinating mirrored pair, making them particularly effective when positioned symmetrically on clothing. Place one patch on either side of a dress, T-shirt, skirt, blouse or jacket, or separate the pair and use them individually on different projects.

Size

You will receive 2 Yellow Flower Patches.

Each individual patch measures approximately:

7.7 cm Width × 11.9 cm Height

Their larger size makes these patches ideal for creating an eye-catching floral feature on a garment, bag or fabric project.

Beautiful Mirrored Floral Design

One of the most attractive features of this pair is the mirrored arrangement. When placed together, the flowers face towards one another, allowing you to create a balanced decorative design.

They could look particularly attractive positioned:

  • On either side of a dress or skirt
  • Either side of a T-shirt or blouse
  • Around a neckline
  • On the shoulders or chest of a garment
  • Beside pockets
  • Across the front or back of a jacket
  • On opposite sides of a handbag or fabric bag
  • As part of a larger sewing or craft project

You do not have to use them together. Each patch has enough detail to work as an individual floral appliqué, giving you plenty of flexibility when planning your project.

Ideal for Clothing Customisation & Upcycling

These embroidered flower patches are suitable for decorating many different items, including dresses, T-shirts, skirts, shirts, blouses, jackets, jeans, denim clothing, tops, costumes, bags, backpacks, handbags and other fabric accessories.

They are also a great choice for upcycling. Instead of replacing an older garment, adding embroidered flowers can completely change its appearance and give it a fresh decorative style.

Where suitable, a patch can also be positioned over a small mark, worn area or minor imperfection, combining decoration with a practical way of refreshing clothing.

How to Iron On

Before using the iron-on method, always check the care label of the garment and make sure the material can safely withstand the required heat.

Some delicate, waterproof, coated, elasticated or heat-sensitive materials should not be ironed. If you are unsure whether your fabric is suitable, we recommend sewing the patch on instead.

Iron-On Instructions

  1. Make sure the garment or fabric is clean and completely dry.
  2. Place it on a firm, flat and heat-resistant surface.
  3. Position the Yellow Flower Patch exactly where you would like it to be attached.
  4. Set your iron to a medium to high temperature suitable for your fabric and make sure the steam function is switched off.
  5. Place a thin cotton cloth, pressing cloth or clean tea towel over the patch. Do not place the hot iron directly onto the embroidery.
  6. Press the iron firmly over the covered patch for approximately 20–30 seconds. Apply steady downward pressure rather than continuously sliding the iron backwards and forwards.
  7. If the garment allows, carefully turn it inside out and press the reverse side of the patch for another 20–30 seconds.
  8. Leave the garment flat and allow the patch and surrounding fabric to cool completely.
  9. Once cool, gently check around the edges to make sure the patch has bonded securely.
  10. If an area has not fully attached, replace the protective cloth and carefully repeat the process for a short period.

Different fabrics and irons can require different temperatures and application times, so adjust carefully where necessary. Avoid excessive heat, which could damage the garment or embroidered threads.

For garments that are likely to be washed regularly or experience frequent wear, adding a few stitches around the patch after ironing is recommended for additional security.

How to Sew On

The patches can also be attached by sewing, either instead of ironing or in addition to the iron-on application.

Sewing is particularly useful for delicate or heat-sensitive fabrics and for items where you would like a particularly secure attachment.

The patches can be sewn on by hand or with a sewing machine, depending on the material, garment and your preferred method.

Hand Sewing Instructions

  1. Position the patch on the garment and make sure you are happy with its placement.
  2. Temporarily secure it using pins, fabric clips or a few loose holding stitches.
  3. Choose a thread that coordinates with the yellow embroidered edging or matches the garment underneath.
  4. Thread your needle and secure the end of the thread with a knot.
  5. Begin from the reverse side of the garment so that the starting knot remains hidden.
  6. Make small, neat stitches around the embroidered outer edge of the patch.
  7. Work carefully around the different flowers, leaves, stems and curved areas, making sure the narrower sections are also held securely against the fabric.
  8. Continue until the patch is firmly attached.
  9. Finish on the reverse side of the garment and secure the thread with a strong knot.
  10. Remove any temporary pins, clips or holding stitches.

If you are using a sewing machine, work slowly around the more detailed curved sections of the design for a neat finish.

Create a Unique Floral Look

The combination of bright yellow, golden yellow, cream and subtle gold-coloured detailing gives these patches a cheerful floral appearance that can instantly change the look of a plain garment.

Use both patches together for a coordinated symmetrical arrangement or experiment with different positions to create your own design. They can provide a striking contrast against darker fabrics or blend beautifully with lighter and neutral colours.

Whether you enjoy sewing, dressmaking, clothing customisation, upcycling or general crafts, these large embroidered flower patches provide an easy way to introduce detailed floral decoration without having to embroider the design yourself.

Perfect for adding a distinctive finishing touch to dresses, T-shirts, skirts, shirts, jackets, bags and many other fabric projects.
